Koi Koi Seven is such a peculiar and over-the-top 13-episode anime that even we wouldn’t know what to call it.
Tanaka Tetsurou is excited to finally get a scholarship for high school and finally live an experience finally away from his family.
But what he doesn’t know is that waiting for him is an all-female school, with a girl madly in love with him even before he arrives.
We will also have the student council composed of 7 warrior girls, who will target Tanaka as the only boy, trying in to attack him every time. And we mean it, as they will use missiles, guns, cannons, and even mecha.
You read that right, and the plot is all real, we didn’t make it up.
Koi Koi Seven is an anime that goes all out for comedy and nonsense, but it ends up overdoing it, creating an anime that goes too far and ends up having no rhyme or reason.
8. Story in Which I was Kidnapped by a Young Lady’s School to be a “Sample of the Common People”
Abbreviated to Syomin Sample, this anime is a pure comedy with strong ecchi and harem traits.
The Seika female institute exists to protect the innocence of noble female students by cutting them off from the world and educating them away from males.
This strange mechanism renders a large number of female students unable to cope with external reality, having grown up without contact with the male gender.
For this reason, the school decides to kidnap and have a random male attend the institution, who happens to be Kimito Kagurazaka, our protagonist.
From here we will see classic ecchi/harem atmospheres and dynamics arise, with Kimito ending up being desired by all the girls of the institute.
The only note of merit that goes to differentiate it lies in the animation which is beautiful to watch and unusually good for a harem.
7. Unlimited Fafnir
Unlimited Fafnir is a 12-episode action and fantasy anime set in an alternate present, where the world is invaded by monsters similar to dragons.
But along with them are individuals with powers similar to them, called D. All of them have always been female, except for the one isolated case of Yu Mononobe, a male, whose existence is kept secret.
For this reason, he will be hidden away at the Midgar Academy, where those with powers are educated ending up being the only male.
Like every anime on this list, by necessity, the plot will alternate between action moments and harem-style romance.
So nothing new or groundbreaking, except the acceptable fantasy elements that makes it slightly different.
6. Blade Dance of the Elementalers
In the world of Blade Dance of the Elementalers, people routinely interact with spirits.
Only young and pure girls are granted the task of forming contracts with spirits, and for this, they are trained in special academies as spiritualists.
But one day the protagonist, Kamito Kazehaya, while spying on a girl bathing ends up accidentally forming a contract with a spirit.
Because of this, he will have to attend an academy for spiritualists, in turn, end up being the only male.
The fantasy setting, the usual harems and ecchi, and a touch of paranormal and supernatural make this anime interesting to watch.
5. Infinite Stratos
A fairly successful blend of mecha and science fiction elements with others of a scholastic and sentimental nature with strong harem elements.
The story is set in the IS Academy, a school created for training pilots capable of using the Infinite Stratos, a technological suit of incredible power that can only be controlled by female pilots.
But on day something unexpected happens: for the first time a 15-year-old boy, Ichika Orimura, proves himself capable of piloting the IS.

4. Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle
Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle is a 2016 anime based on the light novel of the same name. It’s the usual ecchi and harem anime with a bit of fantasy in the mix.
The protagonist of the story is Lux, the former prince of a now-fallen kingdom. One day, while accidentally trying to help an old lady, he ends up in a women’s hot spring bath where he meets the kingdom’s new princess Lisesharte.
The girl becomes enraged and challenges him to a duel with Drag-Knights, a type of special armor.
Predictably, he loses and ends up attending a women’s academy that teaches the use of the just mentioned Drag-Knights.
The mechanics, round and round, are always the same. The one boy in an all-female school who will end up being desired by all, creating an ever-growing harem.
The only difference that goes to make it slightly different is the well-realized fantasy-medieval setting and some good fight scenes.
3. Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru
Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is an anime that finally starts with unique and peculiar premises, different from the last titles.
The last wishes of Chihaya Mikado’s grandfather, the main character, leaves everyone surprised. Before he dies he will wish that Mikado attend the same school as his mother, accessible only to girls.
Mikado decides to accept the challenge, and after putting on makeup and disguising himself as a girl, he enrolls in the school.
But unbelievably he ends up not only being mistaken for a girl but even being one of the most popular.
An anime that is definitely outside the box, and we mean that in general, not just for the genre on this list.
From these particular premises, as you may have already guessed, several interesting dynamics can arise, such as Mikado having to hide his secret, and even romance.
2. The Fruit of Grisaia
The Fruit of Grisaia is an anime that unlike the other names on this list is psychological and dramatic and makes this its strong point with its strong focus with a romance subplot.
And indeed it can be a solid pick if you’re looking for a good romance with a depressed MC.
The Mihana Academy is a special school that accepts students with special backgrounds and educates them away from the outside world.
Joining this school will be Yuuji Kazami, a former murderer who wants to leave his criminal past behind. Here he will find five other students, all girls, making Yuuji the only male in the academy.
The Fruit of Grisaia will be based on the dark past of these 5 girls, who will gradually open up to Yuuji, confiding in him, who will help them overcome their traumas.
If you want to see an anime where the boy attends an all-girls school in a psychological and dramatic key, we have no better advice.
The animation style is also interesting and beautiful to look at, echoing the style of the visual novel from which the anime is based, as well as the narrative structure.
1. Maria Holic
Maria Holic is a light and funny comedy, with some hot and spicy atmospheres but still in a comic vein. It was released in 2009 with only 12 episodes.
The main character Kanako Miyamae is a girl who moves to a prestigious female academy, marked by incredible elegance.
Everything is normal, except for two factors: Kanako is openly homosexual, so she will hit on all her classmates. But that’s nothing compared to the other thing: her beautiful roommate, Mariya Shido, is actually a male cross-dresser.
